BloodHorse to Co-Host Thoroughbred Owner Conference

BloodHorse has signed on to join OwnerView as the co-host of the third Thoroughbred Owner Conference, it was announced today by The Jockey Club and the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. The presenting sponsors are Breeders’ Cup, Keeneland, and The Stronach Group.

“Being involved with an event such as the Thoroughbred Owner Conference further enhances our commitment to serving Thoroughbred owners,” said John Keitt Jr., CEO and publisher of BloodHorse. “This provides us an opportunity to expose current, new and prospective owners to our publication, from the printed magazine to our digital platforms.”

As a co-host, BloodHorse will promote the conference on its website, daily app, and weekly magazine, and OwnerView will provide links to top BloodHorse stories, sire lists, and the BloodHorse Daily at ownerview.com.

“We are very excited to have BloodHorse join us as a co-host of the owner conference,” said Gary Falter, project manager for OwnerView. “Throughout its long history, the magazine has been a key resource for Thoroughbred owners, industry professionals and fans of Thoroughbred racing.”

The conference is scheduled for October 31 November 3, 2016, the same week as the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. NBC Sports horse racing and hockey analyst Eddie Olczyk will deliver the keynote address.

The panels include business considerations for racehorse ownership; Breeders’ Cup winning owners, jockeys, and trainers; and having retirement plans for your horses. In addition, television journalist Nick Clooney will serve as the moderator for a panel titled, “Racehorses in Hollywood,” which will feature producers, directors and actors of movies with horse racing themes.

The social events for the owner conference at Santa Anita include:

  • The Breeders’ Cup Post-Position Draw & Reception on Monday, October 31
  • Breeders’ Cup Breakfast Marquee near Clockers Corner on November 1
  • Conference Dinner & Reception on November 1
